Headquartered in Edmonton, AB with supporting field offices in Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and Lloydminster; K-Energy Ltd is well-positioned to serve the key operating areas of Western Canada’s Energy Sector. With access to the entire fleet of Kichton equipment exceeding 1,200 pieces and a shared resource pool of skilled trades and labourers approaching 1,000 personnel throughout the Kichton Group of Companies; K-Energy is equipped to meet the needs of a wide range of project scopes.

Leaning on our bespoke, Trakon Systems Software, K-Energy boasts an extensive fleet of equipment that is efficient and reliable. Our Software platform has digitized our Fleet Maintenance and Servicing operations which ensures machine uptime and productivity critical to the success of our projects. Operating in some of the most remote areas in Western Canada, equipment operation and reliability are crucial.

Acknowledging the need for a more innovative, client-focussed construction solution to serve the Energy Industry as it adapts to the challenging social, political and economic environment in Canada, K-Energy was formed in 2022 to lead the way.

In keeping with the Kichton growth philosophy, the first step to building a successful business is to secure the right leadership, then assemble a team of like-minded people to support them. Jason Jones was the clear choice. Having cultivated over 30 years of Mechanical Construction experience, starting out as a labourer, and working through the ranks to become a Journeyman Pipefitter and Welder, Jason has built amassed a wealth of experience. Occupying Management and Supervisory roles on both the Contractor and Owner/Operator sides; Jason understands the importance of working together in partnership with our clients. Being a trusted partner from the first project is crucial to building longevity. At K-Energy, our first project is NEVER our last.

Brad Sakowich

VP Finance

Brad Sakowich is a seasoned CFO with a track record spanning over 30 years in financial management, including more than two decades dedicated to a privately owned Pipeline & Facility construction company. His extensive background as a former bank manager underscores his proficiency in financial operations, risk management, and strategic decision-making, uniquely positioning him to foster financial success and stability across diverse corporate landscapes. A graduate of Lakeland College (Agri-Business) and the University of Alberta (Environment Resource Management/Indigenous Canada), Brad also holds accreditation from the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Beyond his professional achievements, he has actively contributed to the community, holding various executive roles in the Rotary Club, serving as a Council Member for the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) from 2014 to 2016, and dedicating 25 years to volunteering as a coach or board member for local Hockey, Baseball, and Soccer Associations. Brads multifaceted experience and community engagement reflect a leader committed to both professional excellence and community development.

Peter McCallum

HSE Manager

Peter has close to 50 years in the oil and gas sector, with the last 18 years in HSE as a field advisor, safety lead, and the last 6 years as HSE Manager. Peter has worked for most of the companies in the oil and gas sector in Alberta, and internationally with British Gas in various countries. Peter has a vast background in pipeline construction in numerous roles and has concentrated on building strong safety cultures within the workforce teams he was involved with.

John Halligan

Director Business Development

John is responsible for the business development, marketing, and client relations initiatives of the Kichton Group of Companies. With over 15 years’ experience in sales, marketing and business development, John has contributed to the growth and success of the Kichton Group through his efforts. Having spent the past 10 years building a strong Network of relationships and contacts in the Energy Sector, John has been instrumental to the early success of K-Energy Ltd. He embodies the values that guide Kichton building relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and accountability. If you’ve met him, you know he loves to chat and is always genuine. When he’s not talking your ear off, he loves to spend time at the Lake with his family, climbing, playing hockey and golfing.
